This is very interesting. In Ultraman Blazar, the first episode shows the speaker mic of Baofeng. In today's episode in Ultraman Arc, They shows ICOM Ham Radio. Seems they realize the importance of promoting the Ham Radio in young generation.

Stumbled on this video as a not as a Ham radio nerd, but as an Ultraman fan. Very cool to see 2 communities intersect through something as simple as the choice of prop for a story lol.

Just a side-note, you don't have to watch episodes 1-9 to understand 10 and can very much be enjoyed in isolation! Ultraman is an episodic show and each story is very self-contained that it doesn't typically require previous episodes to be enjoyed fully!

Many fans of the show are also praising episode 10, and I can vouch for the fact that it's an amazing one. I hope you enjoy it!

He used JP1514 which is not a real call. I have a QSL card from JK1EOP in Yokohama, Japan he was transmitting on VFO A: 145.48009 & VFO B: was on 432.0800. then there is another shot where the radio is on 145.473.270 USB and the VFO B: is on 431.880.71 FM. The shot with the IC905 showed a freq of 10240.028.82 GHz.

I used to watch the original Ultraman series back in the 70s. Loved that show, The Space Giants (1966) and Johnny Sokko & His Flying Robot (1967).

The original Ultraman started 1966. As a kid in the late 60s early 70s I remember watching some of those original series remember the beta capsule? That was a handheld device that when activated changed the human into Ultraman.

Ultraman is very popular character in Japan, every Japanese know him. Yes sometimes ultraman is very cheezy show, but there are many serious storyline in ultraman this is why ultraman is not just a kids show ultraman is show that adults and kids can enjoy it.
