I've found that over the years, I've gone from the over prepared "Everything but the kitchen sink just in case" sort of road tripper to almost the "survivalist" sort. These days it's basically just a water, an energy drink, maybe some mints, and a couple of outfits packed into a small bag and I'm good.

Yep that's pretty much how my dad drives. He would also just hold out his hand, and that was obviously queue for my mom to fill it with peanuts. Promissing to pull over and leave my brothers behind when they fought or driving on the worst most unknow back roads ever
