Passive Network Intrusion Detection System (using CIDDS-001) similar to Snort IDS

This is a passive Network intrusion detection system(NIDS) which has been developed to detect certain malicious cyber attacks.The input for this project is a csv which contains attributes of packets captured during cyberattacks using the Wireshark Packet Capture . We have trained our model using Random Forest Algorithm. The backend of our project was made using Flask and Python and frontend using Bootstrap. Through this project, we attempt to design a system which is similar to Snort IDS but can detect new variations of attacks which cannot be detected by Snort IDS.
