the inconsistency of the stewards is the problem, not even the drivers know what the rules are because they're never applied consistently. even if max was ahead at the apex he still outbraked himself and went off the track gaining an advantage. when the rules are open to interpretation we get issues like this, where teams think they're right based on the regulations, only to find out the stewards looked at them differently. great video as always.

F1 has the worst rules for pushing cars off the road. I’m not a fan of Russell or Verstappen but it’s really dumb that F1 will (rightly in my opinion) penalize a driver for pushing another one off the track and staying on the track but (wrongly in my opinion) not punish a driver for going off the track and pushing a driver off. Basically every other motor sports series in the world has this figured out. If a driver is substantially alongside (at least front wheel to wheel tire) then they are entitled to room on the track. Did Norris deserve a penalty for overtaking off the track… tbh idk, but it annoyed me that no one even seemed to consider a penalty for Max pushing both of them off.

I grow weary of broadcasters trotting out Danica Patrick every time there is a motor racing event in the USA. She doesn't really add anything useful. No knock against her skills as a driver, I just don't think she's an effective commentator.
