Important note: The fate of Neumark event only fires if you have at most 3 loans. That's why you don't give the indebted to the burghers privilege at the start

Since lions of the North, Lubeck has had a 5% perma discipline bonus in their mission tree, so they are now my favourite nation to form Prussia

It was truly a privilege to me that I could see one time @TheRedHawk not taking "stregthen noble privileges" but "compromise" even! Amazing... :)

Usually, the Burgundian Succession happens at a time that's inconvenient to the player.

You could just annex the entire Wolgast, it gives almost no Aggressive Expansion, instead of waiting for annexing Wolgast.

I would love to see a Holland guide from someone that actually steals Burgundy's personal unions. The transfer subject age ability basically gives you Flanders and Brabant for free at that point, yet every guide I have every seen anyone do, they manually conquer those nations and the AE is outrageous. I always take transfer subject age ability first, and THEN the lowered AE. It's just so good. Plus, Holland is my favorite nation to play, so I'd love to see if you can teach me something new.

In your first war: I think you can also call Cologne etc. with "promise" land. If I remember it right they will not lose any trust since you can't demand any provinces for them anyways.
I always mark all provinces, except one, as vital interest so even in worst case they do not occupy all of it. Works also if Austria helps you against the Teutonic Order (marked everything except Memel as vital interest. Since it's the same culturegroup Austria will still help if you promise them any land).

Doing a few show strengths when your rivals can be OPMs helps with the age objective and mana generation at the start. Gives you time to generate favours for the bigger wars too.

Not going to lie, Red Hawk not playing through to click the form Prussia button was a little bit of a tease. 😢

Idk, but if you truly want to embrace the space marines meta - quality + inno is the way. Brandenburg doesn't have starting mil ideas, and the Infantry Combat Ability helps right away, and stacks nicely with Brandenberg's 10% ICA. Inno gives great tech and advisors, and the 15% ICA stacks even more. Econ + Quality is also pretty good tho!

Edit: Switching home node to Lubeck or Baltic is also super important for a much better income to fuel early expansion!

ohh interesting. I always take the updated espionage idea, because of the -20% AE and other nice stuff. As for idea I always take aristocratic first. But I'm gonna try offensive/diplo like you did to test this out and see how it goes!

A few alterations to this guide can make Brandenburg even more OP:
1. same opening moves except we take Kolberg and Stolp when making Wolgast a vassal and we always delete our forts to have lots of moneys. Berlin will only need a fort after the mission that gives +1 admin. Forts are expensive and the AI has a harder time handling an invasion in a fortless country. It confuses the code.

2. We need Polish-Lithuania as an ally to invade Muscovy so liberate Danzig and annex all of East Prussia from the Teutons. Poland is coded to be aggressive for West Prussia. During the war, start spying on Livonia and peace them out with a break alliance on the Teutons ASAP. Change trading city to Kolberg when possible. Warn Danzig and Teutons not to attack your neighbors.

For as long as the alliance with Poland is needed, keep attacking the Teutons on truce ends by calling Poland in and peace them out for money and prestige.

3. Third war is against Livonia who is nicely allied with Riga. Annex both of them entirely. Now we have a strong trading base in the Baltic and can rake in massive profits.

4. At any point, become Emperor and start working on getting Burgundy. Break the alliance with Austria once Bohemia is weak, when becoming protestant later Austria has the best chance of becoming the new emperor. Break alliance with Poland once Muscovy is weak, than invade Poland when convenient.

5. When convenient invade Stettin, feed Wolgast the province of Stettin and take the other. If they allied Poland, wait until declaring on Muscovy and calling in Poland.

6. Keep invading Muscovy + Novgorod + Sweden + Denmark every time we can. Keep calling in Poland to help you out. The goal is taking control of the Baltic trade node first, than the Lübeck node and all nodes feeding into them. Change trading city to Lübeck when in control of the node. Endgame is to take the English channel node and feed it all of Europe + America.

7. The intra HRE strategy is to wipe out the other electors to stay Emperor for ever. And using any spare AE to take over the Lübeck node. As electors start disappearing, we won't need to mind the AE as much. Too much AE with the Electors and they won't vote for useven with a +200 relation. One elector must be protestant for the Religious leagues to fire so we will make sure not to wipe that special one until after the war.

8. When Religious leagues fires, become protestant, take control of the league and declare war on the new emperor even if it truce breaks. Don't form Prussia yet as it will wreck your army and economy even harder due to loosing all the governing capacity modifiers and getting a -20% from being Prussia since the country exceeds 1000 dev at this point. In the peace, make Protestantism the official Religion, become Emperor and than form Prussia.

9. When invading colonizers, leave them strong enough that their colonies don't rebel. Take as much colonial land from them as possible in repeated wars. The AI is very willing to give massive amounts of colonial land for little war score when their home provinces are occupied. If the colonies were independent, we couldn't take as much land even with a +100 war score. Colonial land doesn't give Overextension, only 5 low cost provinces need to be cored to form a very loyal colony and we won't need to send any soldiers ever or do any colonizing ourselves.

Could you do a guide for 1.35 timurids to mughals, the mamluks always support independence for transoxiana since this new update and I dont know how to get around it

Influence is a great idea for 2nd pick as well. If you're getting a lot of vassals it will help annexing them, and theres a policy with innovative for aggressive expansion reduction

One small missplay here, you want to give your ruler military command, not to your heir.
That's because when your starting ruler dies, while your starting heir is still alive, you get a free PU on Ansbach.

26:41, I dont think faceting on early game is "lucky".
You just have to develop gems province to 15 dev and you'll got it.
Except if ottoman managed dev constantine faster than you.

Thank you for your review/walkthrough. It delivers - perhaps not really intended - the very enlightening message of how far this game is set apart from historic reality.

You don't care about the evolution of the cornerstornes of Prussian culture - religous and ethnic tolerance, incorruptible bureaucracy, academies of science and a military capable to defend a country in the middle of Europe (alias: "the deathspell of the central position"; Players of "Risk" know by heart what I try to highlight here).

Instead, you simply become a steamroller backed by one diplomatic clou - you enter an alliance with one "big brother" like Austria, Bohemia or Poland. Then the rise of Prussia - originally known as the dust bin of Germany - over 450 years becomes an endless campaigning across Europe requiring only some decades.

I wonder if the game designers - by creating this parody of history - actually tried to prolong the long refuted myth that Prussia was something like the warmonger of Europe. In fact, UK, France and Russia had fought a lot more wars than Prussia/Germany.

Ah yeah, Prussia and Russia against Poland.
After all this time? Always.
