So, many of Bhansali ji's songs are besed on Raag Yaman (Lydian in western music) with the sharp 4th note (teevra ma).
Here, phool gendwa na maaro, chaudhvi shab, masoom dil hai mera and Ek baar dekh li jiye are based on this raag.
Some older songs of Bhansali ji based on the same are Ek dil Ek jaan, Laal Ishq, albela sajan (some parts), Aaj Ibaadat.

Sakal Ban song is based on raag Bahar, which sounds similar to Vrindavani sarang ( Ghoomar is based on this raag).

5:10 yes "masoom dil hai mera" sounds somewhat very similar to "Bairi piya" from devdas and background especially the starting sound similar to "kahe chhed" (in the sense of the grandness of music.
Don't know if anybody feels same or not but this is what i feel😊

Actually najariya ki mari is also a remake from pakeezah movie. But with different arrangements and he has beautifully composed this song. And its really lovely that we get a so original and memorable song like masoom dil hai mera. Hats off to SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI 👏👏

I think Nazariya ki mari is very famous Thumri song. It was also used by Kamal Amrohi in his Magnum Opus "Pakeezah" an it was sung by Praveen Sultana ( probably).Madhubanti bagchi's vocal is a exact replica of typical haunting and classical vocal of yesteryear Ghazal or Thumri3singers ❤

5:39 - 5:41 part from "Masoom Dil Hai Mera" song, the singing part actually, I found very similar to the song "Dil Jo Na Keh Saka" by sung Lata Mangeshkar ji in movie "Bheegi Raat" (1965). If you want to hear the later song, hear from 1:36 to1:39, you can find the a little bit of similarity too. Please let me know, if I'm right or not.

You forgot about the BGM of the entire series.... What a totally grand arrangement it was... I would say you must watch... You'll enjoy yaar musically yeh movie bht enriched hai... Bht saare youtubers ne review di hai is movie ki kehte hain bore ho jaoge but an actual music lover won't tell so after watching this series... Gaano ko sajaya hai series ke scenes ka demand dekhkar... And that song which is known as "Saiyaan hato jao" is really a captivating musical reflections of the tawaiff, who accidentally fell in love with a Nwab despite being a twaiff...

Some of the songs have actually grown on me after only 1 listen already, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is by far the most talented gems ever Indian cinema has got, he can direct masterclass movies, even compose songs so well, Heeramandi album is unique and classic, the instruments are well organised giving fusion and classical vibes, the sound arrangements are absolutely amazing.
Overall a great album ❤️👌
