I watched this Adriatique set live when it aired in 2020. This was also the last day I saw my brother alive. I remember hearing Marino Canal’s “Unfold” that day for the first time. My brother was in a coma later that month. I was in shock and posted on social media for prayers. Lee Burridge recommended I play music for him. When I realized my brother wasn’t coming back, I visited him one last time and played Ott’s “Shower of Sparks” to say goodbye - I didn’t have the words so I had to let the music speak for me. Brought my iPad in and played the track and held it by his ear. I cried without sound and let the music do all the talking for my heart. I had listened to Ott for years and seen them play live, but only after he died the following day did I realize that Ott’s lyrics said “Don’t be afraid. Let everything flow through you”.

My brother passed away from an overdose during the height of the pandemic. In the days following his death, I re-listened to Marino Canal’s “Unfold” because of this set and shared that I felt my brother’s presence in the “high notes”. I remember thinking that his after-life frequency lived in the “high notes”. It sounded crazy but at the time it felt true and it’s what came through. That was at the height of my shock and grief. But, I found solace that this set existed because it connected me to him in space and time to our very last encounter.

Thinking back to when I hugged him as he left for the last time, something in my heart knew it would be the last time. I wanted to be wrong. But, I wasn’t.

I come back to this set from time to time and remember this stamp in time when my brother was sitting on my couch. Alive. I wish I had held him tighter and told him I loved him. 54:37

The Adrians are good!!! You've got to love them! Their gig in their hometown of Zürich was my last night out before the corona lockdown. Their gig at Nordstern Basel 2 weeks ago was my first gig/party after the corona lockdown. It couldn't be more symbolic! What a brilliant day it was at Nordstern Basel! It felt so good to be able to dance and celebrate life again! Brilliant vibe! Wonderful day! Thank you so much, Adrian & Adrian! :-) <3
