Mastering EDM For Maximum Loudness - Hard Clipping!

It takes a mix of production skills, great sound design, a well balanced mixdown, and mastering chops to get to the insane loudness levels of today's electronic music tracks. Whatever your opinion on the loudness war, loudness is essential when it comes to EDM; especially if you're looking to get signed or get spins in the clubs and that's a fact of life.

Mastering EDM for loudness can be done in a number of different ways. In this course, you'll learn the tricks of the trade, the plugins and the techniques used to achieve maximum loudness.

Whether you're looking to master house, trance, mainroom, or anything in between, this course will show you how to master your electronic music to be loud, clear and punching through those club systems.

When mastering for loudness you'll be using tools like

- Mid/Side EQ
- Multiband compression
- Saturation
- Parallel processing
- Limiting

... and some other goodies to get that "wall of sound" effect that many EDM tracks have and that can sometimes be very difficult to achieve.

This course was made using Ableton live, its native plugins and a number of free plugins to master a festival style EDM track for maximum loudness. Don't worry if you don't use Ableton Live because you can use ANY DAW. Links to download the free plugins used in the course will be provided for you when you sign up as well so you'll be good to go!

German native here. Fleisch = meat and produkt = product. So it's like "meat product" which doesn't make any sense at all :D

Did you hear how extremely bad it sounded after your final tweak it sounds like if somoeone is turning base volume up and down in beat with the bass beat almost like a limiter which is exactly what you add. It is like if your completely drunk almost to unconciousness and all sound muffeled. This shows mixers of today understand nothing of crispness and details in sound but create a flat max volume mix by cutting away higher levels to get more volume, google loudness war here on youtube and you will see how much better for example a snare drum sounds without this compressor limit threshhold nonsence. Imagine you would do thi in a photo program aswell remove all in histogram that is high.

Why would anyone want to ruin their music by destroying the dynamics and making it sound like rubbish? Makes no sense whatsoever. If you just want to copy the mainstream "music" industry - well, that says it all really.
