Learn how to create architectural elevation views from a 3D model in FreeCAD BIM. This tutorial provides all needed steps for beginner to create 2D construction documents in the form of a site plan on a sheet. Tech Draw workbench is used in the tutorial apart from the BIM workbench. After finishing tutorial, viewers will be skilled in creating 2D architectural construction documentation in FreeCAD.

Viewers will learn how to create a sheet (or page) and place elevations views on it. Creating and adjusting TechDraw vies is demonstrated. Hatch patterns created from vector SVG graphics and also raster images are part of the described elevation views. Creation of cosmetic lines and changing line properties in the view is explained too. Very useful is the explanation of importing symbols to the view, in the case of this tutorial these are architectural elevation symbols. Export to PDF is explained at the end of the tutorial.

I do a lot of architecture. I want to love FreeCAD, but once the drawing gets a bit complex, the software lags so much.
