Space nerd here, the Moon is the real target for colonization. The Moon is insanely close to Earth, had lots of resources has low gravity and no atmosphere. Now, you’d think the lack of atmosphere would be a problematic factor, but it isn’t. Atmospheres decrease the efficiency of rocket engines, so the lack of an atmosphere, along with the low gravity, makes the Moon THE prime target for human space colonization. Titan (a Saturnian moon), the second largest moon in the solar system behind only Ganymede (a Jovian moon), with a diameter greater than Mercury, though its mass is lower due to it being made mostly of ice, not iron like Mercury. It is also the only moon in the solar system with a substantial atmosphere, with it having around 1.4 times the pressure at sea level as Earth, with it being made of mostly nitrogen, similar to Earth. However, its atmosphere is almost 100% nitrogen, while Earth’s is only 79% due to the 20% Oxygen (the rest is mostly argon and then even less are trace gases like CO2, H2O and CH4). It is also stupidly cold. Saturn is 9.5 AU (astronomical unit/the distance between Earth and the Sun), which gives Titan a temperature of only 93.7 Kelvin or -179.5 Celsius. Sorry if I bored you with some space facts, but I do want to point a lot of this out. (Btw, Mars is not a good place, given the dust, distance (it takes 7 months to get there AT BEST) and radiation (sure, the moon is worse in that regard, but we can haul more weight, and thus radiation protection up there and cycle people out faster, so it is still better in that regard)).

Mars is a look cooler than you expect. It's not the entire planet that looks like that. Most regions aren't that bland, that just happens to be where the footage was shot.
