What is the Best Midrange Mobile Processor?

Flagship SoCs get a lot of attention, but many people buy midrange devices, not premium ones. With that in mind let's look at what are the best midrange mobile processors (SoC) that are available from Qualcomm, MediaTek, Samsung and Huawei.

Thanks for this insightful video. I'm using a SD710 device and I must say it's a very capable piece of silicon. But the truth is, SD660 offers the best bang for your buck in segment. You can get a phone with SD660, at least 3 GB of RAM within $150, this kind of spec at this price was practically unimaginable few years ago.

This year’s best midrange processor is probably last year’s flagship processor. ;-)

For example, it is easy to find an LG V30 in the 330-450$ range (450 new), and these probably handily best this year’s new midrange devices. (IMHO)

iPhones in the A9-A11 range are relatively inexpensive and perform well compared to “midrange” systems.

MediaTek X30 is the only SoC I've come across that uses ARM Cortex A35, even though it's the most energy efficient ARMv8 core.
I hope A35 gets adopted for smartwatch SoC and M35P as co-processor.

Gary, you should try collaborating with some youtube megastars (many of them undeserving in my opinion) in their videos couple of times. That might bring in more subscribers. Your quality of delivery, the accuracy and comprehensiveness of content, and the breadth of topics you cover is phenomenal. It will be a shame if lack of subscribers and views may force you to stop making these awesome videos down the line.
