Autumn Plants in Japanese Art: Melancholy, Love and Longevity

In this video we look at flowers and plants which are depicted in Japanese Art and which are typical of the Autumn season, such as the Japanese maple, the chrysanthemum and the Japanese bush clover. We will see a variety of objects (woodblock prints, textiles, and lacquer) from the collections of the MET, of the British Museum and of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
