I love the way Kudret reinforces baran’s position. Love how he say this is your seat son, not mine nor anyone else (looking at the greedy slimy fox hassan), continue to sit there. His purpose as a loving father was not to come and demote his son, not to come overshadow him and take over with his ego by saying thank you for keeping the seat warm all these years but I’m here now son I’ll take over, you did a great job but let a true pro show you how it’s done. No he did not say or do any of that instead, he humbly sit next to his son, all he wanted to do was be there for his sons, to talk to them, share in their worries, sadness, happiness and love and if he have to just stand there and clap for them that’s enough for him because he have seen how much they have grown all these years and take on the mantle of the karabey family and they make him proud. What he and his wife instilled in them when they were little he saw it unfold before his very eyes all the time while in that chair. His sons are brave, courageous, merciful, forgiving, loving, kind, compassionate, leaders, doers, intelligent, fill with wisdom and surround themselves with wisdom filled people (dilan, kerem, Kader, Gul, Sena and her mom, Ahmet bey), they are humble (when they need to lol), they maybe be rich and come from a powerful tribe but at the same time they aren’t afraid to sit with the poor, shake hands with them and befriend them as a matter of fact they feel more at home in their presence. Kudret knows he and his wife give birth to wonderful sons so why wouldn’t he be proud to step a side and let them lead on. Baran have carried the tribe thus far and he managed to squash a feud that probably have been there for decades maybe even before he was born (because who knows who else hassan previously got them into heat with and create more enemies for the family). I so love the respect he give to his son and in a way it’s his way of showing approval for what Baran has already done and what he will continue to do. He’s saying you continue sitting there, I’m here now just to stand beside you, give you extra support and when and if you need me I’m not far but you’ve had this, you have got it and you will always.

I’m just rewatching those episodes but this is what came to my mind when I see this scene of baran being a respect son and knowing that was never my place, it should have never been or it shouldn’t have been that early but due to circumstances I was thrown in this position and I always prayed you got better to take your rightful place, so here although I am the still the head of this tribe (even if by default Idk) but you are my elder and this is your seat. But his father is like no son you earn this seat. It’s not mine nor anyone else’s, Keep on sitting there. I’ll be cheering you on the side as I was doing all these years.
