Let's Talk About Modesty! Why Modesty is important
Have you ever wondered how to dress modestly or even why christian women dress modestly? Modesty as a young women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was something that I often wondered about because I knew I should be modest but I didn't really know why other than to show respect to my body. Thankfully I've found some christian advice, church lessons, and council that have really helped me to understand that christian modesty is a matter of the heart. Yes, there are guidelines for what modesty should look like and how to be modest, but my modesty 2019 video is all about how to get the principle of modesty into your heart.

If you are wondering about living up to your potential and divine nature as a daughter of God and how to value yourself, my channel is for you! I share my thoughts on what it’s like being a latter day saint young women, and have videos on all of the young women values. Being one of a few lds speakers, and lds youth speakers my mission is to share how to use the Gospel of Jesus Christ to put more joy into your life.

Excellent views, good sister. Along with all the reasons you mentioned, covering our bodies mitigates damage to our bodies, especially when we're out and about roughing around. I was in Iraq when we caught Saddam back in 2003, and I saw all the local women there dressing modest, even under the new social order we were bring in. Women were no longer under oppressive Muslim rule, nevertheless, they chose to stay modest. If people complain that its too hot outside to be fully covered, consider this. I was dressed from head to toe in full battle rattle, kevlar helmet, sacred garments, uniform, boots, plus 40 lbs of body 130 degree heat!

How much time would we spend on our appearance if everyone else were blind? Also God is looking right at our heart not at our outfit. He knows the why behind what we are doing. And everything we do let it come from a place of love and honor for God and others.

Modesty is not at all for men to not lust. Men are entirely responsibly for their own disgusting behavior. Lusting after a woman who is not your wife, liking another woman's body, etc, is so sick and hurtful to your wife/future wife. It's fully the man's fault if he's going to hurt his wife like that. Modesty has 0% to do with men not lusting. Modesty is to save your own body for romance and intimacy with your husband or wife, who will also save their body for you. It's more fun and special to have your body be romantic than for it to just be out for whoever to see in public.

Watching with my 9 year old daughter. Can you give advice to the young tweens that are inundated with visual fashion trends that are anything but modest.

We also have a responsibility to teach the younger women. Kids especially are always wanting to imitate adults. What will happen when children start wearing thongs to the beach? You already know, … It will become a pedophiles playground. Let’s show the younger ladies how to be lovely and attractive without sending the wrong message
