REQUIRED PRACTICAL 1 (AS) - AQA A LEVEL BIOLOGY

In this video, I go through the variables, procedure, theory and results behind the first required practical for AQA A Level Biology : Investigation into the effect of a named variable on the rate of an enzyme-controlled reaction.

At 17:42, How do you know its the substrate that has been used and not actual enzyme/active site?

Is the control done only once?
Also, for doing 3 tried per experiment, is it ok to do 3 at the same temperature together? As in, warm them in the same water bath and time them together.
