So, um...WHY were the areas that were intended to flood, subsequently developed into dense suburbs??

So, it's been over 5 years now and Lake Houston is still missing the additional flood gates needed to avoid the flooding bottle neck created when the water reservoir in Conroe dumps the equivalent to Niagra Falls into the San Jacinto River. The SJRA did the dump during Harvey while residents down river were sleeping. I recently called Dan Huberty's office, and a staffer got back to me on the subject. Not only are the flood gates not built, the plans for them due this month have been extended. Nothing has been done. Houston Strong? I don't see it.

what idiot puts suburbs inside reservoirs, there just using the same logic as New Orleans except this time above sea level. Luckily down in Webster where I live which is lower and south of Houston doesn't flood as bad bc we have good drainage at least.

Ummmm why would they build houses knowing it floods there ? Or why would people move in knowing not floods bad there. Don't people bdo there research about the area they are moving to ?

Wait ? Y'all Texans ain't got no damn Drains? I mean do they ? It's like I want to know if they got any underground drains the water can leak in like those metal things in the ground we have here in Florida ? Those metal bars that lead to drain. Don't they got that in Texas ? They should get them if they don't but then yet again it be impossible to make. Idk

what an idiotic ideal to "retain" billions of gallons of water until that quickly overflows, cause i mean why wouldnt it overflow? then release all that extra billions of gallons onto already flooded prone areas throught houston... GENIUS
