Yeah, the Disney Voice is a real thing, they ask you to pitch up to sound more youthful. I like that she's experimenting with sound now, especially cause she's always loved theatre so it's probably super fun.

More explanation: She thought that her real voice was too rough for pop in the Boyfriend era so she sang more like whispering, but now on her new music she's gonna sing with her real voice and she embraces her real voice more. Hope this cleared things 🤗 (and if I'm wrong correct me pls)

After reading all the other comments i just wanted to say thank you. Ive been grappling with how to do anything these days. Everything feels worse than ever. been checking her new projects recently after only knowing her through Disney and oh my god, that first impression took me back. I knew she sounded different, of course, but I mostly described it as a lower voice. I hadn't even realized it was Disney's effect on the artistic direction. her new music is so cool, I'm loving it.

I understand what you mean…I used my lighter voice as well when I was younger, although I adored the voices of Toni Braxton and T-Boz, but now I combine my lighter voice with my deeper voice and it brings out a dramatic dynamic which I love ❤
