I put a 250hp outboard on my 12ft boat

Travis Pastrana teams up with World Champion Powerboat throttleman—and fellow Annapolis native—Brit Lilly to take on an obscure challenge: installing a 250hp outboard motor onto a 12-foot dinghy! Inspired by a Mad Hueys video featuring a small boat popping a wheelie at full speed, Travis is on a mission to recreate the stunt. This is one of our worst ideas in a while... But it could be epic!

Glad to see that the giraffe neck himself, OG Mr. Jim DeChamp is still around the crew. Even though you don't see some of the old crew members in the videos, you tend to wonder if they still hang out. The MTV nitro days was my childhood, seeing some of the original people every now and then brings back good memories. As you can see I never stopped watching and probably never will lol. Thanks to the whole Nitro Circus crew for giving us endless action sports entertainment over the years and years to come, you are all legends. Remember people, DON'T go right!!!

At our marina someone abandoned a sixteen foot checkmate. Our yard mechanic put a one fifty mercury on it that he had. It was fast and would prop walk without a problem. Then one day a customer wanted a new three hundred blackmax installed on his flats boat. He had one on it already but it was old and he kept having issues with it. He was tired of putting money into it all the time. We got it from him for installing the new one. We wanted to put it on the checkmate but it was sktch like the one here. The mechanic cut a hole in the hull about a quarter or a third of the way forward of the transom. Then he built a motor box like in a mullet boat and mounted the motor inside of it. It was so fast and a lot more stable. It looked so odd when it drove by. The motor could not easily be see because it was mounted so low and inside the motor box. The boat looked like it was just hovering over the water.
Great video! Keep it going!

The footage of Travis coaching the raffle winners on how to backflip into the pit - was THE BEST this channel has put forward.
Maybe as well as the stunt/show episodes with a TV feel. Go for a more Vlog style with Travis teaching and sharing his knowledge. 👍🇦🇺

I attached a 70hp outboard engine to a boat rated for 15hp almost 30 years ago, which included reinforcing the tail of the boat so it can handle the forces. When the outboard drives right through the middle of your boat like a zipper, it will really ruin your day and I didn't wanted this to happen. That one was insane already, it was almost impossible to get a proper propeller for the engine, so that it could reach it's power band without over-revving at full speed. But at least it was completely usable, perfectly stable with a sustained top speed of 80mph, 1995's version of ludicrous mode. I had a lot of fun with this.

I love that he doesn’t pretend he knows what he’s doing. …on his way to mastering it in one session.

What you need is a pair of contra-rotating 125hp engines- but I suspect too heavy and hard to find. Great fun - and nobody got hurt!

Hey bud!! I am a disabled Vet and since my injury I found RC Boats. It has become a passion of mine, so I started a YouTube channel. Since starting in June 2024, I Have dreamed of making a scaled down version of race boat! I would want to make it out of carbon fiber Kevlar. I would love to collaborate on a project together because the RC Boat world needs new models, and I would love to bring it into reality! Like I said I'm disabled so money is always tight, but I do have ideas and plans for this amazing hobby. I want to bring this hobby to disabled vets and give them a hobby that will bring them the excitement we have craved since we all got out!1 It helps with my mental health tremendously. All I want to do is help my brothers and sisters from dying due to their mental health issues. I would love to get together and make this happen. I know how much Travis P love and respects us Vets. I look forward to working with you guys and making this dream come true and I want everything build here in the USA by Vets! What do you say? Should we make this happen?
