Possibly the vehicle is broken down. More likely, the crew got drunk, and took a walk looking for more to drink.

Why in the heck doesn’t that s-400 system have some kind of air defence?
Wait a minute, never mind.

2:37 I have been told by my team in Ukraine (92nd Assault, code 9.2) that Russians near the front are using vehicles they cannot repair as decoys, once they strip off all parts they can use.

If it was a decoy it got destroyed by a $300 drone and did *not* cause a $100, 000 GMLRS to be wasted on 100% Scale Model of the radar.

i'm going to say the rest of the system got lost and the radar was the only part of the system turned up in the right place.

Maybe it was driving back from Turkey to be returned.🤔

Russian troll: "Bro, the drone was disabled by EW before it was launched and even before it was produced. Some debris managed to hit a S-400 decoy."

Very intriguing Mr S, thanks for the report and your speculations.👏🏻 🎉

It makes little sense to spend as much money as would be needed to build a convincing mockup when the drone used to take it out is almost certainly cheaper than the decoy was to build and place.

You'd think the radar would be the easiest part of a battery to be detected, since it's the only piece which advertises its presence. Maybe the plan is to network displaced radars to simultaneously serve several batteries, since destruction of one renders its dedicated battery useless.

Maybe the crew wanted the vehicle hit and were not in it at the time. They would get back to base, report the vehicle destroyed and wait to be given a new one.

My guess is that the radar unit was parked close to where they wanted to deploy, but waiting to go into the open field until whatever AA system they needed to be eyes for were also in deployment. No need to make yourself a passive radar target for the angry rain when there's no umbrella to be had.

Thanks for your excellent analysis, again!🫡

Radar is easier to find as it emits signals when in use.

Maybe they got sick of losing radars plus launchers in one hit, they have lost a lot of elements to single strikes...

Thank you, Suchomimus, for this interesting episode of Hide and Seek.

probably broke down on the side of the road... russians are probably not servicing "non-combat" vehicles so this vehicle probably finally broke down on the road...bet that's going to happen more often to other vehicles
