I was in Myanmar just before covid and was surprised by the cuisine.. I was expecting more south east Asian flavours, but noticed a huge Indian influence in their dishes.. my fav was definitely the Khao Swai (I think the coconut curry noodle dish you tried)..

wowww! I can't believe you tried burmese food! I am from Myanmar and all the food you ate are like the most common breakfast dishes. It's soo fun seeing other people try the food you normally eat.

Thank u so so much for checking out our foods T ~ T This video really got me off guard because not only Myanmar is extremely underrated around worldwide but sometimes, even the Southeast Asians forget us xD . Our cuisine is very similar to our neighboring countries ( for example like - China and India ) therefore, two or three of the foods in this short are almost identical to Indian Cuisine since they obviously derived from there but however, thank u agian to recognize our little existence here 🥺 ♡︎ ps : i didn't even notice this video is one year old haha"

I'm appreciate that you tried burmese food! Proud burmese here:D and yes, some of them are from Indian cuisine and they're so delicious! But the most popular dish in Myanmar is Mohinga, which is fish soup with noodles. I hope you try this one 😊

Burmese (Myanmar) food are a huge Fusion of india and Chinese as these two are the neighbor countries. Most likely to indian. But it has it own unique taste. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh yes, parathas. Those are worldwide dishes (mainly in Saudi for me), with a circle bread which is stretchy and crispy, but you can your own. The sauce can be made too. You can just make curry with chicken or any sauce that suits you.

There was briefly a Burmese restaurant in Ottawa [Rangoon] that was pretty good- I liked their menu as it suggested a cuisine with elements similar to or borrowed form Indian and Thai, but interesting additions and combinations. Sadly, they didn't last long and the place is now an Indian curry and kebab shop- which is fine but Ottawa did not lack for those things.
