Crafting complete and comfort survival shelter | Bushcraft wood structure, clay roof & twin fireplace

I imagined this survival shelter to live in peace far from the madness of the cities, here I will cultivate, hunt, fish and improve my hut.

I used dead wood for the structure, earth and stones to build the fireplace and all the natural materials I found around me.

The magic of this forest did the rest.

You have no idea what this does for our imagination. The aesthetics are great. They look like hobbit villages!

I love the fact that you took a simple thing like bushcraft and made it into an art form. I think most of us would stop after laying down the tree branches for our ceilings and call it done lol. I think that’s what made it unappealing for me (at least) until I stumbled upon your videos. You’ve showed us what is possible with the least amount of tools and ingenuity. Now as a consequence I can only imagine bigger and better things to do. With more people too.

I know it’s supposed to be a temporary shelter. Who knows how long these structures will last. But for me i like thinking about the things you can do to expand further. Adding a garden to grow vegetables. Adding more landscaping etc. Or digging deeper for more leg room and expand into tunnels that eventually branches outwards into a tunnel network over time lol. The possibilities! Can always add as much as you want as your creativity allows. I also like how everything acts as camouflage until it starts smoking lol

I can only imagine how many of these “houses” you’ve made along the way with each “abandoned” houses acting as pitstops for your many returns.

It would be nice to have all the people who build stuff like this meet together and build an entire village.

Who else randomly finds interest in these videos at 3am?

I grew up in a rural area and my brother, sister and I practically lived outside and in the woods. We also had a small creek to play in. I love watching you and most of the others who do this. It's every kids dream to have a tree house or a "fort"! My husband just does understand why I love these videos so much! I am 69 years old, and these videos bring so many happy memories

I just want to point out not only was this an amazing build but as an aspiring filmmaker I can appreciate all the amount of work it took to get these shots right

A while back I accidentally came across your videos and now I'm hooked. There's a certain kind of peace and calm watching you build out in the woods with no talking and just the sound of nature. If only I could build one of these for a place to retreat to.

Hey, just a precautionary note to you and anyone else that might read this.
Be VERY careful when heating up rocks, especially those that have been wet such as river stones. Any trapped water inside, once heated can expand and cause the rock to shatter/explode into shards. Ideally you want dry rocks, that have been dry for quite some time. You can also test "heat" them before using them as construction material.
Same thing applies when using hot stones for cooking purposes like is common in some traditional cooking in certain cultures - you really dont want one exploding into small pieces in your large pot of food.

Thank you for showing the legend video today.
After watching your videos, I challenged Bushcraft videos and get a lot of inspiration.
The video is still lacking a lot, but I will make a great video like you soon.

It's insane how this skilled man is able to complete this entire structure in under 30 minutes. Well done!

This is probably the best structure I’ve seen build that is realistic and not faked

I can’t imagine how much work this was with those little hand tools while taping all this. Excellent content!

I love this channel because you use all natural building. Some people bring their drills, nails, and chainsaws.
I love that you used roots for rope. Now that’s REAL bushcraft!

Having to set up a camera for every single shot makes this whole project even more impressive.

I used to dig/build similar twiggy and earth roofed hidy holes for my starwars figures in the back garden playing in the mud 40 years ago. Great to see the engineering upscaled, and advanced too ofcourse. My greedo and stormtrooper would of been super cozy in your gaff.

Just a tip. Char the wood before driving it in. The char helps protect it from ground water and they will last longer... and don't use rocks found in water sources for fire... they can explode

Gosh, I wish I can go back to Maine.

I traveled to a small forest town in Maine as a layover and I miss it so much. I vividly remember going out into the woods and drinking some warm tea, watching the mountains with my family. I even got a chipmunk to climb onto my hand! Thankfully, I bought a souvenir at a gem museum in that town, so now I won't forget.

Sorry for my bad english.
