I bought the Alpha based on YOUR videos. Thing is perfection. Every time I see that red quick release on someone’s video I get a little smile

As a casual racer (IR 2.6K) who is “ahem” a bit older, I’ve just ordered the Alpha mini, upgrading from Clubsport V2.5. I know I could have got an Alpha for £200 more but I’m retired now so don’t have unlimited funds. Got to work to a budget.

I have both the Mini and Alpha and I love them both. My Mini is now sleeping as a back-up, praying nothing ever happens to my Alpha. They are both amazing and I recommend them both. He is spot on in this review. The Alpha is known as the end-game base from the majority of the community, the ultimate being if you are looking into more immersion. But if you are into the competition, the Alpha is enough. The Mini is perfect and no slouch. Hope this helps.

Hey Jack, love this video and also all of your many recent videos. What I’m mostly interested in is the granular detail on a high force wheel vs a lower force wheel as I hear running the same force on each the higher force will have better fidelity. I have a mini myself and currently couldn’t imagine needing more torque but am a fiend for more detail and performance, if it means I need to buy the ultimate but dial it back to lower force I would :). Love your videos man don’t stop.

Great video again mate - for my budget I can squeeze in an Alpha and a GT Neo. Quite excited about getting it all, kit looks solid

I went ALPHA with the GTNEO, and run it at 100%. And I am happy. Not a daily racer though. But I like what I have on my rig

Got the MOZA R12 a month ago and now going for the simagic alpha… kicking myself I wasted money but doing because I learned a lot since I bought it and seeking a base for the long term with high quality.

looks like the Mini will be perfect for me I'm 57 years old and beat my body up when I was young racing dirt bikes. I've had many broken bones and surgeries, I'm in pain 24-7 and take pain killers everyday. I have never had a DD right now I have the TM TS-

xw and I need to move on from it to a DD. thanks for your video.

My progression was Logitech G920 -> Fanatec CSL DD (8Nm) -> Simagic Alpha.

Each one an improvement on the previous once dialled in to suit snd I honestly can't imagine anyone needing more than the Alpha (as opposed to wanting).

Officially it's 15Nm but tests have shown it output 18.5Nm peak torque - more than enough power and detail.

My simagic alpha has just started to feel a bit strange and it's making a bit of a weird noise, I've noticed it get quite hot a few times but today I feel like it's changed... the noise and notchy feeling quietens down when I put the smoothnes filter high but I can still feel it
Edit it was from using the road texture in ACC turned that to 0% and it went back to normal

I’m stuck in the research mode, I’ve been looking to upgrade from my DD+ and get out of the Fanatec ecosystem. Im stuck between Asetek and Simagic but I’m going the full 23 or 28 nm. 100% I’m buying once and crying once on this round. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get into sim racing and didn’t go all out on the first base. I’m hooked now though.

Got the Alpha U myself as well and simply love it. Got also the P1000 inverted with shakers and hydraulic kit. Also love them to bits. The strength in the Simagic software goes all up with me and I turn down or up the strength in iRacing. Each car feels different actually…. A lot…. It is some very good stuff and can recommended it as well. The base is dang heavy in weight though lol

I've "upgraded" from Fanatec CSW 2.5 to Alpha mini and felt absolutely no difference in terms of FFB and tuning the feeling. I've upgraded from Alpha mini to Simucube and although I keeped the same FFB, the amount of tweaks in the settings in order to get a better driving feeling/immersion is light years away. Indeed: buy once, cry once - get yourself a Simucube not a cheap chinese product

Was planning to get one of these, possibly as a step-up for 2-3 years to a Simucube or Alpha U, but remembering how my T300 used to feel like it was trying to kill me, and now I'm used to it feels like a kitten gently trying to escape a cuddle is making me wonder if I should just save a bit longer and go for the standard mummy-bear Alpha.

I originally had a simagic alpha mini, fx pro, and p2000 pedals. I still have the pedals, but grew out of the wheel base and wanted more. Went to a simucube 2 pro, and use gsi wheels. The fx pro, I did find that the handles were very loose. Felt like they were gonna snap, I did get a replacement plate that has the grips attached, but sold the wheel when I got rid of the base. The alpha mini I had no issues with, just craved more. The pedals I still use, but have had the hydraulics on the brake replaced since they leaked and have had to replace the throttle as well for leaking. Great pedals but with the issues I’ve had I’d recommend just getting p1000 pedals. I will say replacements from simagic were great, but now I am out of warranty which is concerning.

Switching to simagic was the best decision

i ordered my alpha mini two days ago. I had a moza r9 before and i wasnt happy with the ffb as it felt kinda muddy. The 9nm on the moza was a bit low, well it was quite good but at high speed corners it could clip. I hope i'll stay happy with the alpha mini for atleast 1 - 1, 5 years. For me its better to lose 200-300 dollars in 1, 5 years than paying it now due to how life is atm. Im quite excited. Got the alpha mini for 590 dollars (tax and everything included) and my GT neo arrived today. Im super happy with the quality compared to moza wheels.

Literally waiting on mine to arrive Wednesday. I currently run a CSL elite as well.

I believe that using a linear encoder like the one in the simucube would help me become faster, allowing almost simultaneous input of my steering actions into the game. However, the simucube is quite expensive. When I was recently looking for a substitute for the simucube, I came across the conspit ares, which also uses a linear encoder.

About to upgrade from a T500 to the alpa mini and the neo x hub. I don't want too much feedback so 10nm is good for me.
