It is his choice, and he has the ability to do as he pleases. If Marvin Harrison Jr wants to make the most out of his brand, this is probably the better decision to make some more money. On top of that, the lawsuit against him will probably fail. On the other hand, it may actually hurt his brand overall because nobody will be able to buy a jersey from him unless it came directly from him, and fans will be upset that they won’t be able to play as him on Madden 25, just because he wants extra money to come from his name. He is in the right to make this call, but the question of whether or not this is ultimately good for him is up in the air
