The Rescue Auger is a vital safety device designed specifically for emergency situations in grain storage facilities. This innovative tool is employed when an individual becomes entrapped in a silo, providing a rapid and secure method to remove grain around the person. Featuring a powerful internal auger capable of expelling grain at a rate of 1.5 bushels per minute, the device minimizes the risk to the trapped individual by efficiently clearing the space needed for a safe rescue.

Born and raised in Iowa.... This and grainery explosions are no joke.... To the farmers of the world, stay safe and thank you for every thing you do for the rest of us.

For those wondering, kernels like that are worse than quicksand. You sink and there really isnt any clawing your way out. Sadly people have passed away in silos far too often. Glad they have methods now to rescue others.

When I was about 10 years old, I lost my friend to a farm accident. They were emptying a grain silo into hoppers or bins (i think theyre called). He was playing hide and seek and he hid in one of those hoppers. Unfortunately, the silos auger was turned on and it was loud enough to drown out his calls for help. His death rocked our little town and changed my life forever. He was 8 years old. Its been almost 38 years ago as of this Oct 6th. I still miss him.

My brother and I used to play in our silo all the time. One day the guy who actually worked our land caught us. I had never seen an adult, other than my mom, be that upset.
We had no idea how dangerous it was.
There was an angel watching over us for sure.

My cousin was inspecting equipment at a grain silo when he slipped and fell into it. Grabbed the emergency stop, but it mangled his leg so bad it had to be amputated at the knee. As a kid i thought it was so cool, but once i got older i understood how lucky he is to be alive.

So this actually hits close to home. One of my childhood friends died very young because of being trapped inside of a corn silo. The rescue/safety technology has come a long way since then and I’m glad to see it

When I was a kid (living in a small town in Ohio), a family lost five family members in a single grain silo accident. Most people don’t realize how dangerous they can be.

This is a training video, if someone gets stuck in a silo it’s more like “you seen, Johnny, it’s been a week?…”

For those that don't know what a bushel is: it's four pecks. You're welcome.

What people don’t understand is when you get stuck. It puts a lot of pressure all over your body when you get unstuck you could be at a very high risk of heart attack

My father worked at a feed mill that blew up. From the dust in the air. He was the only one that survived. After that they changed the scoop shovels to aluminum. No sparks to set off the dust.

IRL firefighter here. We had someone fall in a silo once. We actually used an avalanche rescue kit cause it’s often times cheaper than a grain silo kit and cause we had lots of snow so it was multi purpose for us

Don't forget to use electric tools rated for use in explosive atmosphere

They had to use one of these on a local recently. He was stuck up to his chest. He's very lucky to be alive.

It's rare that men survive grain silo accidents.

Big thank to the inventor who created this device! This can save people from sand, mud and snow as well!

This shits no joke. Two brothers died in a silo on the farm down the road when I was younger

I'm on my daughter's account. I'm not a farmer so I'm no expert on silos. Years ago I heard about a farmhand falling through the grain because of an air pocket. Luckily the farmer was there and seen the guy get submerged. He turned the fan on that helps dry the grain. They believed that kept the farmhand alive long enough to be rescued.
