How to use a Paintbrush - Creatively - PaulPriestleyArt

In this art video I'm going to explain how to use a paint brush artistically, and creatively, to produce wonderful brush marks on a canvas or paper. The demonstration uses acrylic paint and is intended to beginners, those who are new to painting and those aspiring artists.
I explain how by varying the pressure on the brush and twisting your wrist you can create many different effects in paint. I also show how wonderfully random brushstrokes can be, and how we should aim to preserve them as beautiful individual brushstrokes.

Hello Paul. I am completely new to your videos, and came across them purely by happy accident, as the great Bob Ross would say. I was instantly struck by your wonderful, easy to follow method of teaching. I have only ever painted small, immature paintings and have realised that I have a long, LONG way to go before I can consider my art as being good enough to share with others. I find I have a heavy hand with the strength of paint I use when attempting watercolour art, and I'm not much better in acrylics. I am just at the very start of my art journey and I have been looking for a happy, enthusiastic teacher on YouTube who can show me the best way to create art, and do it in as simply but thorough a way as possible, because I want so desperately to learn, watercolour mainly, but drawing and acrylic and perhaps even oils too one day, I hope. Sorry, I just realised I'm rambling on. So to finish off I will say thank you for the videos, I have subscribed and I did ring the little bell too. So now I am a new fan of yours, as of today. Yay!
