What is karma and how does it work in Overlord and why does they matter:

Basically, Karma is attribute originated from YGGDRASIL which also functions in New world and it has influence in game's mechanic. Karma value affects strength of spells, item abilities and races. Karma increases/decreases overall power output of Skills and manifests itself as a bonus or minus damage of the skill. Because of this system Character's who have negative karma value tend to use negative-karma abilities and vice versa.

It also symbolizes character's sense of justice. Character's karma value can be changed either negative or positive by slaying opponents with specific Karmic alignment.

princess renner should be +1000 karma (Godly Good), because she just raised an orphanage, helped his brother, willing to take care climb, she had a lot of friends (lakyus, evil eye, garagan, tia, etc) and she was plotting with albedo to save her country! she deserved to be the queen

Yeah I was always curious about karma values in overlord. I think the new world system of karma is different from Yggdrasil’s system. It’s also interesting how the NPC’s are greatly effected by their karma because it’s a part of their character but Ainz doesn’t seem to be effected. I’d rank Ainz as neutral evil in actuality -100. His behavior is more like Aura and Mare’s in that he will kill anyone who gets in his way but he is nowhere near as extreme as Albedo and Demiurge who want to torture humans for the fun of it.

I like how the twins have a negative karma. They don't go out of their way to be cruel but they don't shy away from it and it's never drawn out.

These are only karma levels and doesn't show how good or evil someone actually is. Ainz is unaffected and he's basically neutral. Demiurges and Albedo have the same karma value but demi is by far the most evil in the show.
