Good job in letting people know that they actually have to feed them. So many people don’t. I mean, what are they supposed to do once they eat all the algae? No joke. So many people do not do this and the fish starve. However, in regard to ottos, they don’t get that big and they are hard to keep alive. If people want to try and keep them, it is important to get a group of at least 5 or 6. I would recommend a tank of at least 30 gallons if you are going to actively try and make them live for more than just a couple months.

Siamese Algae Eaters should not be kept alone. Keep in groups of at least three and they will eat the slime coat off your other fish if you aren’t feeding them properly. 55 gallons and above.
