"A bad plan is better than no plan at all, " is the entire blueprint for the DCEU.

The movie seemed held back by The Rock's brand. They could have gone darker and made us truly question good vs evil or if killing is an absolute bad. As is, the movie was fun and I believe worthy of a sequel AS LONG AS they stick with the darker tone and do a movie that is more focused on narrative and not hampered by a brand.

If I was Johnson’s agent, I’d be worried about “Dwayne Johnson fatigue”

I didn't expect it to be the best superhero movie in the world. So I had low expectations in the first place. I really enjoyed it it had a nice little twist in there as well.

I was afraid when they cast DJ as Black Adam. It was decent, I really liked seeing Hawkman and Dr. Fate! I hope to see more of JSA!

The thing is, it's not a Black Adam movie, it's a Dwayne movie. The man didn't change his face, attitude, hair, or voice and simply said, "I'm Black Adam" naaa I'm good. lol

Don't let it distract you from the fact that The Rock has an agreement in his contract to never be a character that is losing or "looking weak", in order to not damage his wrestling image.

I just watched the movie after reading these comments. At no point was I bored or disappointed. It's action packed, great story that's easy to follow. If you don't like this movie because of The Rock, you're stopping yourself from enjoying something truly incredible.

I actually liked Black Adam a lot and hope that they have a directors’ cut, because apparently some more good stuff was left out! Wakanda was amazing, though! Glad DC will start becoming more cohesive and I hope they still continue the Superman and Wonder Woman franchises with Henry and Gal!❤

I think people (movie goers) had a The Rock fatigue effect. Black Adam was a good movie for DC Uni with a few cringey or banal line scenes. It’s the kind of movie whereby watching it once was enough in theaters and probably at home tv streaming. Hence, BAdam lost momentum quickly and was just barely breaking even in 💵profits. It still one of DC’s best movie.

The rock plays himself in every movie. We’re all just “the rock” burned out

People might just be tired of The Rock. I'm not sure what else it could be. The Rock has his hands in every avenue & folks may just desire to see him fail one way or another.

I opted in to buy the digital version instead of the theaters and I kind of regret it. I enjoyed it a lot but would have enjoyed it much more in theatre with the big screen and better audio than my earbuds. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the movie. I've watched it like 4 times since purchase lol

I truly love Dwayne The Rock Johnson. He’s an amazing actor and person and his fame and recognition are well-deserved. But, sometimes it feels like they cast The Rock just bc he’s The Rock and they know that him staring in an action movie will get ppl to watch it. The man is in 3-5 movies a year and does a similar character in every movie. Even though I did generally like Black Addam, I feel like the writing of his character lacked depth and didn’t really play into the emotion that gets the audience to care and root for Black Addam. Seemed like DC was riding on the existing hype and nostalgia of the comic book character to carry the movie instead of creating a character for The Rock and the audience to meet. It felt like I wanted him to win bc there were bad guys oppressing ppl and abusing their power, not necessarily because I wanted Black Adam to win. In comparison to Namor, Namor’s character building that deviated a bit from the source material and the world-building of Talokan and its people was great and was an area I feel Black Addam lacked.

I've seen it twice now and still think it's a good movie overall. There's more than a few moments that don't quite work but nothing to ruin the whole movie. Just my two cents.

I'll admit I did expect it to be a bit darker. The first probably half hour or so is just right, but then it tones down some. Had it kept that vibe throughout, I think it would have been way better.

I bought the movie instead of going to the theatre. I enjoyed the movie. I've watched it several times since.

Watched it in theaters and was a very good movie definitely wasn’t disappointed. Yes some parts threw me a lil but would recommend

I saw it with my son and both of us were disappointed. There was no character development for anybody but Black Adam and that was minimal. It was written like a cartoon for old children who wondered what it would be like if the main character just killed people whenever he felt like it. Even with all the action, I found myself looking at my watch to see how much longer I’d have to sit there.

Unfortunate. I thought it was a great movie! I was entertained and I honestly love The Rock in anything he’s in
