I have heavily used my Lidle car tyre pump, using it every week to pump tyres for about two and a half years. I found that it is a good idea to start the pump before you connect it to the tyre. Why? I have more than once blown the cigar lighter fuses by trying to start the stationary pump with a heavy load of tyre air stalling the pump's electric motor on start up. Like any stalled DC motor, it will pull a lot of amps unless it is turning, which it won't want to do if you are trying to pump a tyre which already has 2 bar in it.

Second, quite early on the switch in my pump failed and I bypassed it so my pump can't switch off unless you disconnect the power lead from the socket on the car. The switch was a cheap and feeble one - not up to the job really. The pump works fine without the switch, though not quite so convenient.

Thirdly, after a good amount of use, I pulled off the end plate (opposite end to the switch) and oiled the small cylinder and piston with a few drops of engine oil. This lasted ages and the pump went much faster with a bit of lube. You don't need to do this until you notice the pump is not spinning as fast as it did when new. Many people won't use the pump often enough to ever face the problem, but mine is used all the time so needed re-oiling.

This pump has been a great buy for about £15. Mine has done far more work than most would expect from such a low cost item. Be prepared to mend the odd failure like the poor quality power switch and oil it now and then and it will last for ages. Great buy.

I am not sure who manufactures and owns Ultimate Speed, but their Parkside tools are apparently owned and manufactured by Einhell Group.

I have one. The analogue gauge is uncalibrated and very inaccurate. Get a small digital gauge for accurate tyre pressures.
