Nearing the end of my 8th grade school year, on June 6th, 2022, after 2 weeks of me and my dad delaying going to the gym for the first time, I finally decided to wake him up at 6 am and tell him we were going to go. Always wanting to have big muscles and look good without a shirt on, I just never had that courage to even mention it to my dad. But throughout my 8th grade year, my feelings were tormented by a female. She played mind games with my heart. I had never and still, had a girlfriend. But this girl made me certain that she was the one. Nearing the end of the year, it slowly hit me that I was only being used. Despite all the countless things I did for her, it was over. So I decided what better way of coping with it then to hit the gym. It was so hard to take that first step and I felt intimidated by the gym. I felt as if I was no good. I’m sure my dad felt similarly being overweight himself. However, it was the best decision I ever made in my life. Almost every week leading up to today besides when I had gotten sick, we had gone to the gym at 3am. There was no need to wake up so early, despite having school and work we needed to attend. We could have gone later in the day but we chose to go early. This taught me how to adapt to suffering and hardship. This took me on a journey I never imagined myself embarking upon. There were several days were I was extremely tempted to simply snooze my alarm and turn over to sleep. I couldn’t fail my dad though. I couldn’t fail God. Every step of the process is worth it. Sacrificing your comfort can put you decades ahead of others. Start today. End never.

Goggins relentless pursuit of greatness and refusal to back down from any challenge is beyond motivating. I'm sitting here feeling like I need to get up and start working on my goals right now! We're capable of so much more than we think. Time to embrace the discomfort!

There’s just something about that rush you feel after working out. It’s a natural high giving you a strong sense of self confidence… It’s hard to shake.

Now being a mentally strong person myself but still human i hope Goggins have people he can talk to and rely on even a hug often because when everyone see you as strong they always think you’re.

It really is something you learn exercising. Lived my entire life as a fat slob at 360 pounds. I’m sitting at 180 pounds now exercising hard daily and pushing myself everyday to do more than yesterday. You just do it.
