Multiple calls to 911 from Dallas family with gunman on doorstep go unanswered for hours

A Dallas family says they made multiple calls to 911. It was nearly nine hours from the first call to when an officer arrived.

I see too often of Dallas police officers running around town doing nothing but park in parking lots chatting, sitting in restaurants for longer then 1hr period or parking behind vacant business building doing nothing. They need a new chief.

I called 911, recently, only to be put on hold for 8 minutes before someone even answered. By the time they answered the dude was gone. This is ridiculous!

What the whole hell??? Someone on my doorstep with a gun and stealing my property is not urgent So, not one of the 5011 cops in Dallas was available! That's bs what is there to investigate and who will investigate it since they are so freaking busy?

Their 1st mistake was not have at least one firearm for every adult in the home.

Calling 911 is only for notifying authorities AFTER the fact. When seconds count, teleportation is obviously NOT a thing. Not yet, at least.

i guess i just worked for a podunk police department in a no-account town. if we got a call like that no matter HOW busy we thought we were somebody would break away to respond. i'd like to see the call logs for that shift on that night to see what they thought took priority over a man with a gun call.
or, when they made the second call the victim could have said, "take your time, i just shot 'em all."
