Here's a great old tune that I know you'll love to pick as much as I do! Take your time, but you're going to discover that it has a lot of "licks" that repeat to build the song. You've got this!

I'm playing my Recording King M5.

I also learnt how to play this as a teenager (on the guitar) in the late '60s. Now 50 years later I can play it on the banjo, many thanks, great lesson, love your warm and sincere sense of humour. Makes learning a real pleasure.

Jim Pankey, I’m in the UK and I bought a banjo about a month ago during lockdown as I was being furloughed from my fencing firm. I followed your 10 bluegrass lessons for three week and thought I would jump into this as it’s one of my favourites to listen to. I usually play drums and have dabbled with guitar but the banjo, for some reason sits very well with me and haven’t had to much trouble picking it up which I think has a lot to do with your fabulous teaching skills. Banjo isn’t overly popular in England, everyone just wants to learn the guitar 🐑.. the point I’m getting at is I’ve found a lot of happiness in playing this beautiful instrument and without you, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be enjoying it as much as I am. Much love from UK to Georgia!

I just love when you start out playing it full speed. It lets me hear it correctly before I start learning it.

I’m just getting ready to start my banjo journey, I’m waiting on my picks to come in. I’d give anything to be able to take one on one lessons with you. You are by far the best I’ve seen at breaking everything down in plain terms. And at the same time, making it FUN! Thank you for all that you’re doing to pass this knowledge on to folks like me.

Hi Jim! This one's took me a bit of a while, but have the lick now and am just trying to get it tidied up. What a great old tune it is!
