None of the above is to be construed as blanket support for the Modi Govt. or its actions. In a democracy as huge, fractious and unwieldy as India, there is always scope for great disagreement with the ruling party. But the reason why Modi enjoys tremendous support is that he and his party, are perceived to be patriots, unlike the others who are dynastic & corrupt or ideologically indoctrinated, with external loyalties, such as the Communists.

The Communists come in various shades of RED, from well-meaning idealists & patriots to the supporters of Naxalites, who have indulged in the most gory & violent attacks in different States of India. These Naxalites find all kinds of support from urban "intellectuals"(read Communists). There is a term for them in India. They are called URBAN NAXALS.
