It’s insane how much groceries are. A bill that used to be $100 is now $180-$200

I look at Vinny in a different light now that I know he's in the same income bracket as myself and many Americans. I thought all of them on the panel were rich, it's nice to know that his views and opinions come from a world and class many can relate to.

Crushed is an understatement. But this was the plan from the beginning. I already said when covid hit that this was the beginning of the end for the middle class. Everyone called me crazy

In 2020 on average our groceries for 3 people was $450/mo (sometimes $400ish and sometimes $500ish due to toiletries and cleaning supplies), now our groceries, consistently is between $800 and $875. I’ve had to make changes to brands to avoid hitting $900+ per month for groceries.

My family buys nearly the same exact groceries since 2014.

I’m using 2020 because we started to log our spending since then. The left is the literal antithesis of humanity.

Gas prices may have gone down but they're still expensive where I live. It still hurts to fill up

Food prices have doubled in the last few years. I used to spend about $200 a month to eat. Now its over $400. I don't buy name brand stuff. My monthly food and household supplies have gone up hundreds per month over the last few years.

My family isn't living paycheck to paycheck. However, my wife took a job at our local library, in order to help pay off our mortgage faster...that's no longer a thing. Her job now is to make up for any random thing that happens outside of our standard bills.

Gasoline has gone down? Dafuq? Where?! It's damn near $5/gal along the entire west coast.

The saddest thing I've heard in a very long time, my wife told me that while waiting in line to pay for groceries, she noticed elderly couple kept putting things aside because they were not able to afford their entire groceries and needed to bring bill down. She wanted to pay for it but was afraid of doing so because you just cannot approach people these days, even if you intend to help them.

Its not just middle class, its middle class and small business. The rising costs affect small business owners just like the affect the average individual, and it makes it even harder to be competitive to giant corporations on price.

Not one word about home insurance, car insurance, health insurance, and property taxes… the things the middle class can’t do anything about. So out of touch!

Low cost and high level of flexibility. He is so right. That’s the new American dream.

Yeah, I’m feeling the pinch everywhere. I’ve changed my shopping habits, almost never go out to dine, menu plan and search for sales and budget meals, put a 40.00 total cap on subscriptions - YouTube might be on the chopping block next as premium is now almost 20 dollars - decided against getting a new car to replace my 12 year old one, and bumped up my thermostat to 78/80 because even electricity has gone up substantially in my area. The only thing that has saved my bacon is the fact that I bought a small and affordable home prior to the worst of the housing inflation, but even that hasn’t been untouched. Yes, I have a fixed rate, but payments have still gone up with increases in insurance and property taxes.
