MCTV is a Public Access television station, which is traditionally a form of non-commercial mass media where the general public can create content television programming which is narrowcast through cable TV specialty channels.
Midland Community Television is the City of Midland’s public/government access cable television station. MCTV was created in 1984. The City operates three channels on Charter Communications and AT & T’s U-verse. These channels consist of Public, educational, and government access television, (also PEG-TV, PEG channel, PEGA, Local-access television) - three different cable television narrowcasting and specialty channels. The public access channels serve individuals and non-profit organizations, while the government channel presents government meetings, as well programs about City of Midland services and events. MCTV also supports the Midland Public Schools channel.
The MCTV Network channels are found on these Charter cable channels: MGTV-188, MCTV Messages-189, MPS-190, and MCTV-191.
AT&T U-Verse airs Midland’s Public Access television on Channel 99, which lists the 3 channel options on an interactive menu.
