When we were stationed in Can Tho, Vietnam during 1970 with the 162nd AHC, we had to take C-Rations with us almost every day on our combat assault missions. Surprisingly we used to joke & laugh about being given C-Rations that had their date of manufacture back in 1950 during the Korean War. We ate them and survived; the U.S. Military didn't waste a thing back in those times! :-)
