Because of this series, I have started to learn Blender and have been having a great time. I tried using other tutorials but they never quite clicked with me. Yours however have been amazing and I'm really coming along with my version of your sea shack. Thank you sir!

These are one of the best Blender 2.8 tutorials out there right now, love your way of explaining! Thank you for taking the time for making this!

I found another way to animate the texture so it loops nicely. Instead of having the texture move with translation in a circle, you can put the empty below the scene, and then rotate it vertically (not horizontally) about its own center, if you rotate it by 360 degrees, it'll loop perfectly and with the waves only moving in one direction.

I like the fact that you covered a few ways to tackle the texturing of the water and the animation. Makes it a good reference to keep handy for other projects. Keep it up Grant!

Wow... Your tutorials are really amazing ! In fact, I was a bit afraid to start working with Blender and I think it was really worth for me waiting for the 2.8 version. You eventually got me into learning this "beast" with your videos and now I start to feel comfortable with it. What a powerful software it is !
A thousand thanks to you.

In case anyone else is facing the issue of automatic easing that Blender does to keyframes: Go to the graph editor and select the keyframes that you want to change, press T to bring up the Interpolation menu and change the curve to Linear.

For people having problems displaying the keyframes in the Dope Sheet: try disabling the "Only Show Selected" command. It looks like a small arrow in the upper right corner of the Dope Sheet pane. Your tutorials teach new concepts in a gradual way and apart from that being professional it is also extremely helpful for the learners to grasp the new concepts and learn the program. Please keep up the good work!

Unbelievable good Video, that is exactly what I was looking for.
Im a total beginner, so I love the reminder of the shortcuts and the speed of the Video.
Thank you!
I used Voronoi instead of Clouds, it also has a nice vibe

I'm struggling in 10:00. I am working in 3.2.2., but there's no texture coordinates in displace modifier. I'll be grateful for advice.

Great! Lucky u did this. My share on this is I used shape keys instead of displacement. Good result too. Now I learned this new technique to add to my knowlege! Keep up the great work. The only issue in the whole series for me was the water material causes my rocks below all light poorly. Had to cheat and gave my rock emission to light them up. Yours so clear!

You could have just grabbed all the top vertices on the sea and hit S then Z and then 0 and it would have straighten it up. You taught us this in one earlier video.I tried it in this and it worked. So i skipped over the few first minutes.Thank you for teaching me this incredible trick and easier way doing it.It was also great watching the hard way you showed in this video.

If you don't like key-framing it you can always add a wave modifier and add the top vertex to a group then add a texture to help randomize and displace the waves. Afterwards just set the duration of the modifier, make any small adjustments and boom, beautiful waves and no key-frames!
