As soon as the price goes down a little.. im there.. for now.. my ThetaS has been awesome for the past 3 years.. I only use it for photos.. follow my middle school sports teams.. or on rollercoasters..

Streaming is limited to plugin or rtsp. I would like to see if Ricoh can set Theta z1 as default camera for android. Use case future 360 communication, 360 mirror casting, streaming using third party apps. Allows for video recording via third party apps to add visual/sound/special effects to video recordings. Would make the device more usable.

Buy the Z1 for 360 photos and the Insta360 One X for videos. For 1K Euro I would expect the Z1 to have image stabilization for video at least. dual 1 inch sensors will be better quality at 4K than the much smaller sensor at 5.7K.

Is there any chance to know if the Theta "Z2" will come out? I am just about to decide if I buy a Z1 now or still wait till a "Z2" might come to market. Any advices here?

Based on review the pics demonstrate a higher quality but barely can justify for double the price of a theta v or insta360x1. Companies are innovating like insta360 x1 but theta being a prior leader has took the turn downhill and stuck on hardware issues. Wait a whole year of development to improve 4x the sensor size. Ricoh should be able to see the difference in preorder on theta v vs z1.
The price of the 1" sensors at the company cost should not be pushed to the customers at $1000usd when it's a theta v with bigger sensors. Video is same quality of theta v.

If possible to improve...
Complaints from theta V still ignored and not issued. Ricoh isnt listening. This shows lack of ability to improve or save cost on using old parts.
Built in 19gb space same as thetaV when pictures are raw, larger in size now. Built in battery same as thetaV. batteries die quickly with 4k video. 40min max. Which max out the memory too. 4k video limited fps. I've had theta s and v and was really hoping for z1 to be leading in 360. Huge disappointment from following ricoh for so long.

Нахрена этот лесоруб, находясь в метро, крутит камеру? Это же не gopro. Ему рассказали, что z1 снимает вокруг, а не в одном направлении? Z1, наверно, хорошая камера, но с такой огромной ценой ($1150) у нее будет мало владельцев. За такие деньги можно купить Ultracker Aleta S2C. Хотя, судя по тестам и обзорам, картинка стала больше, но не лучше.
