I just have to say I LOVE YOU! Your reviews are just perfection. Detailed enough to get the gist but not so long and boring I'm changing the video. Thank you so much. You're helping me out big time.

We are Catholic and have had NO issues with TGTB language arts curriculum. I'm a former reading intervention specialist/ language arts public school teacher and find the curriculum to be amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone. It takes us about 25-30 minutes per day per level not including the personal reading. We do levels 1 and 3. It does not take an hour.

New Subscriber! SOOO Helpful! Thank you! I've been using The Good and the Beautiful LA with three kids (we're finishing levels K, 1, & 3), and while I feel it's amazingly thorough, I just can't swing the parent involvement, since we also use RightStart Math with all three, and I have a crazy 3-year old, AND I'm working a few hours/day from home! I love how you pointed out curriculums that would work for parents needing a more independent style. This has helped me see that Language Lessons for a Living Education is what I need to try for the coming school year--just ordered levels 2, 3, and 4 today! Thanks again!

These side-by-side comparisons are so helpful. After watching your reviews, I'm now seeing why Abeka is so popular; it seems very intuitive and engaging. The Christian Light Education and the LLLE curriculum also seem appealing as well. Thank you for this. I am not a father yet, nor am I even married. But perhaps one day this information may prove useful.

I am a brand new homeschool mom of 4 and watching your videos is teaching me so much about curriculum while keeping me interested at the same time. Thank you for giving me brief, simple explanations that are also clear and concise! When I began studying curriculum, I was so confused and didn't know where to start, but I'm on my way thanks to so many seasoned, loving homeschool moms God has given to me along the way! The homeschool community is so amazingly supportive and I'm so excited to be a part of it!

THANK YOU for these videos!! I found the one on math curricula so helpful, and I'm slowly working my way through this one (with lots of notes!). The flip-throughs are especially helpful. I'll put in another vote for more comparison videos - especially with history/social studies.

I came to watch this to find out more information in all the language of arts to choose one but actually this video is very general:
I have been using Abeka so let me help:
-You need the parent kit so you can teach your child many charts of special sounds that will be asked in the weekly test.
- It is spiral so you will see some concept next week again.
- the writing book is all in cursive so you need to help your child read it so he/she can copy it, if he/she is new to cursive.
-then you do the 20 minutes reading with the readers and you need to get the book for the question/ answers you need to ask and what they should answer.
- you work in a weekly spelling 17 to 20 words a week.
- they memorize a poem for 3 to 4 weeks.
- after 90 days in school, it is when creative writing is introduce to the children; so they do that besides the cursive and weekly test.
The parent needs to sit down and teach the first page of the language book and the child does the second page as homework.
- it is so very expensive because every reader is $17 dollars and you need around 9 of them. Also you need to buy separately the child kit and parent kit for Math, History and science.
I investigate in The Good and The Beautiful and it covers lenguaje, spelling rules, writing, art, geography and history also 1 reader for $56 dollars. You can supplement writing and science as you please…. You also find the same curriculum for free in pdf for those who can not afford it. I personally checked the scope and sequence of Abeka and TGTB and it is exactly the same the children will learn in a year but for less money. I spent last year in Abeka $980 dollars. And I believe a kid doesn’t get to be the best because the curriculum is expensive, the child gets to be amazing according to the way he learns and the environment.
Take it for a person that speaks 4 languages and all self taught.
I hope this helps anyone out there with the same question.

I'm glad your demeanor and tone changed dramatically as you gave your thoughts about TGATB. I'm a brand new homeschoolers and have absolutely no experience with vetting cirriculum....but I know unnecessary bigotry and bias when I see it. Just kinda confirms my suspicions that TGATB is worth looking into further. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thank you so much for doing these comparisons/reviews..
This is my very first year homeschooling my kids and these videos will help tremendously in narrowing down my search for the "correct" curriculum.

I have tried most of these curriculums. My son was a straight-A student while in school. He mostly did Abeka. Once we did homeschool I found out that Charlotte Mason was to easy for him. Our favorite has been The Good and the Beautiful. They have so much good material. However, we still needed harder material so we are back to Abeka. I just wish that their books weren't so cheaply made. They tear easily. Love your videos.

As a Muslim Homeschooling mum i often take inspiration and have a lot of respect for the way Christian homeschooling parents strive to incorporate their religion into their child/rens education. I am however, sad to see the level of misrepresentation of other faiths in the curriculum; i.e at 9:18 the page on Muslim facts, the second fact states that Love is not one of Allah's names??? What is Al-Wudud??? Always worth doing your own research & go to the source.

I would love to see a comparison video between the Logic of English (LOC) and All about Reading (AAR). Everyone recommends AAR for struggling readers and kids with dyslexia, but it didn't work for my son. I found LOC and Love love love it. I'm learning things about the English language that I wish I learned as a child. My son is thriving with the LOC program and my 2.5 yo is starting to sound out words because of this approach. I wish more homeschooling youtubers would review the curriculum.
