DAIN AI frame interpolation (with comparisons to optical flow)

Let me know if you want a part two. I could easily get way more detailed about the program and stuff. I'd also be interested in testing out more optical flow settings, I didn't realize until I was almost finished editing the video, but in the fusion tab if you use the optical flow node to interpolate the footage, you can control many more things about the interpolation.

ayoo, whazzapp. whatcha looking for down here? Music?

Ive got a 3090 and DAIN still takes 30 mins to render a 5 second clip.

This tech is dope also I like how moonlight sonata is playing in the background.

Edit:

I'd be curious if you could compare these same clips (or similar if you don't have them anymore) with something new that popped up known as Rife which I'm being told is faster and just as good if not sometimes better than DAIN. And there's another AI model called CAIN (Channel Attention Is all you Need) which I don't know where it stands on the board other than hearing Rife surpasses it. I believe it's also not as good as DAIN either. Both of these plus DAIN can be accessed by a new GUI tool called Flowframes which also contains a ported version of DAIN to work with Vulkan compatible cards. (aka it works with AMD cards)

Dain is obviously superior than optical flow but the rendering time is insanely long compared to optical flow.

I just bought a grip of Tesla K80's, 40's and a M40 some with 24Gb VRAM for under $200! It's changed my life.

Very informative video, I would love to see another part of this series(?)
Would love to see how these interpolation tech could handle in games.

I've seen a number of clips using the DAIN AI, and wanted to know more about it and see if maybe I could use it myself. The rendering time is a definite downside, but maybe for some shorter videos? I might also give _optical flow_ a try. Thanks for this very informative video. Not many channels at only 69 subscribers make videos of this quality!

Note- Would you recommend editing and rendering a video together and increase the FPS of the render, or increase the FPS of the original files first? I heard you say in the video that if you include transitions it could make a difference.

Guess I'm sticking with Optical Flow until my next client pays me well 😅😂😂

very informative. What optical flow implementation are you using?
