Major book award for internet critic | Journal

Jaron Lanier scooped the prestigious German book prize for his groundbreaking role in exploring the risks of today's online technologies. The Peace Prize of the German Publishers' and Booksellers' Association carries a 25-thousand euro award. The association choose Lanier for the honor at a time when Germany is engaged in a heated debate about Internet security.

IMO even there were a such problem of digital monopoly, if you call that a problem, no one can solve it alone.  Financial crisis caused by insatiable greed for money and better ROI is and will always be a global phenomenon, but the Internet is a great leverage tool for democracy! Technologies are neutral, people are biased, don't get this wrong, please.
