🌱 Welcome to the Algae CO2 Scrubber Project! 🌱

Embark on a journey with us as we dive into the development of an innovative CO2 scrubber using algae. In this series, we'll explore every step of the process, from sourcing affordable materials to scaling up for larger operations, assembling the scrubber, introducing the testing equipment, and showcasing the results.

Our ultimate goal? To significantly reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to the collective effort of combating climate change. By harnessing the power of algae, we aim not only to mitigate our own emissions but also to explore methods for CO2 removal and potential carbon sequestration.

🙏 Thank you for watching and being a part of our mission to make a positive impact on the environment!

I was wondering if you think it would be possible to combine a VOC plant fungus with these liquid trees algae so that we could burn plastic and the fumes could be turned into oxygen? Like couldn't we bioengineer the fungus with the algae so that they work together to produce as much oxygen as possible from these harmful chemicals? Please reply if u think this idea is dumb or not id appreciate it..

hi @ScottyDIY how to calculate thisunit = 400tree ?

MrRapinPaiwan

Would you be able to use these in a bunker for oxygen generation

Your idea is very interesting. Have you heard of the Elon Musk competition with a cash prize?

can growing cucumbers on a place that was crowded with trees before give as much oxygen than the trees do?
my actual question is that people are destroying the forests in order to grow food, but noone is talking how much oxygen corn can produce ?

would it make sense to keep one of these units indoors to reduce co2 levels? I'm thinking that it could really help with concerntration if i could lower indoor co2 levels to something like 500 ppm. Would the algae produce any nasty smells? Could a solar powered plant light help with the algae's photosynthesis during night/winter? Really liking this idea and series!

I have made a small one for my window cill suing a 2 litre spagetti jar, a 1 watt air bubbler with diffuser stone which runs on a solar power bank. I have added 1 crushed chlorella tablet and some aquarium moss balls and capped the jar with a bath sponge.. When the water starts to go really green i'm gonna siphon it to water house plants. If the solar battery bank will keep it's charge and it is fully carbon neutral I am going to make one for the bedroom window as well. Thinking of adding some interesting aquarium ornament and getting some solar powered LED's to underlight it so it becomes decorative as well. Maybe a good homemade gift idea... I have got so carried away in fact that i might even get a fish tank to do the same thing and just grow plants and algae it it-but only if i can do it with solar power.

And what do we do with the algae once we've grown them? If we let them rot, they'll release the CO2 right back.

Are you here after Elon musk's tweet?

Hello Scotty! Hopefully you’ll see this message 😅, but I Was wondering where dd you get the algae sample… and which type of algae is like spirulina. Thank you great video!

The transportation dept of the US has the ability to put in 1 million swamp algae carbon capture and sequestration areas in cloverleafs and road verge next to highways today reducing carbon by untold amounts. Do you think they will?

Thank you for what you show. That's very wonderful!
i am in vietnam and i am very interested in this topic. I also researched how to grow spirulina algae. Hope to get to know you and look forward to hearing from you!

So you need to filter the CO2 from a coal or gas power plant or other versions of thermal power plants which produces CO2 and can be reprocessed using this bakteria

So I just got hit with a flash of how to adapt this to a full suit.

Guys. All those cool LEDs in gaming spacesuits. Make them grow lights. Tube the algae mix through the suit.

Where is the link where i can make one? I want to know more of the concept

The idea is great although not new, but I think the design is flawed, the amount of energy you take from the wall outlet (35W for the pump) requires more carbon emission to create than the amount of carbon you capture with the algae. If the power to the pump would come from solar panels or other green energy, then yes it is a winner.

In general, if you’re not going to use the resulting biomass as a fuel, how would you properly keep the CO2 sequestered? Would you bury it?

I think a diffuser is perfect for air running through this
