Being from a small town definitely steered me towards building more artists relationships, and trying to make the local talent sound their absolute best. Nobody really had money like that, maybe a few but it was cool. Having a person cry in your studio because they cant believe that's them coming out of your speakers is something money has never bought me... BUT!! Do you find that specializing in 1-2, maybe a 3rd genre is better than mixing all genres? I feel like as a rock musician, I would be able to mix rock, indie, country better and maybe some pop as opposed to electronic/rap/hip-hop, I'm horrible at, lol.
