Russia has vowed to retaliate after it says Ukrainian strikes have killed 14, including two children, in the border city of Belgorod.

If confirmed, it would be one of the deadliest strikes on Russia during the war so far - after nearly two years of fighting.

It comes hours after Russian strikes on a number of cities across Ukraine which killed 39 people, in what was described by Kyiv as Russia's biggest missile bombardment of the war so far.

Russia can attack Ukraine at will while Ukraine can’t retaliate outside Ukraine. That doesn’t make any sense!

How nice it must be to be inside Russia knowing that your victims aren't allowed to retaliate.

Russia: “I reserve the right to hit anywhere in Ukraine I want.”
Also Russia: “If you hit _me_ I will tell my mummy on you.” 🤷‍♂️

As if Russia wasn't already planning on a winter missile campaign specifically targeting civilian power infrastructure.

How utterly shocking that Ukraine finally hits back after almost 2 years of Russian bombardment.
The temerity!! Unbelievable.

The scale of the indignation is tremendously funny. Ukraine has been under attack for 700 days. These people must experience just a tiny sample of what that feels like.

The cruelty of the western allies forcing Ukraine to fight with one hand tied behind its back whilst allowing Russia to sow as much destruction on Ukrainian civilians as it wants is beyond the pale.

It's impressive that Ukraine managed to carry out an attack something like ten kilometers outside of the range of the weapons Russia says was used.
Some might even call it impossible.

Yeah Russia, this happens when you constantly go after civilians.

This is really bad. Two children died in Belgorod and 17 wounded. No matter who "started it" - this children do not deserved it. What worst - It would not "scare" russians, if anything - it would piss them. If now on mass - they want the end of the war, and do not support it, after such attacks they could fell that this war is personal for them, and get involved in it. It will lead only to more casulties on both sides...

Finally, they both have learned something from Israel, which is that international law is just a bunch of meaningless words with empty threats.

My only question is which war has followed the rules of the United Nations.
