I have crossed paths with AXIS once or twice in my AF career.

If I remember correctly she is named AXIS because her mother is Japanese and her father is German 😊

I love it that Air Force pilots have their names picked by the squad. Sometimes the story is pretty obvious (Ditch, Crash, Axis), but sometimes you wonder. Like "Swap."
