In futsal this is really usefull as a goalkeeper to create space in such a small court

Busquets was goat at these types of things

That's what I think is Barca missing this season. Since he was a bit slow in his last few seasons, paired with De Jong he could focus more in the pace of the game and creating key passes to break midfields and defenses of the opposition rather than defending. Now without any natural pivot or, at the very least in the same level of Busquets, it's much harder for the team to create any attacking opportunities.

It's one of the most useful tools for players that are not as quick, it's all about the timing and orientation.

As mentioned above, futsal is incredible at developing this, there's not a lot of space to run so you gotta be clever with the usage of space and time.

These videos on busquets, explaining his mastermind makes me realize how I almost took him for granted in his last season for Barcelona.

Great content from Tifo!

Cole Palmer has been mastering this, the way he deceives players and slows down his pace before shifting again is beautiful..

I saw Robben do this from up close in the 2014 World Cup. It was magical. For some reason it’s the moment that stuck with me the most from the two games I saw live

Busquets was really underrated painfully. This statement: "You watch the game, You don't see Busquets, But If You watch Busquets, You see the whole game", is so true.

Hazard was a professor of this school of thought

If you want a perfect example of that skill being utilized check Xavi's assist in the 2011 ucl final

This is one of Mbappe's biggest strengths. Especially since the defender's are scared of his pace

Zizou did this too. All great midfielders do it. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Redondo, Valerón, Seedorf, Pirlo, Rijkaard…

I love doing this while playing futsal or football on a small turf pitch. I'm somewhat similar to Busi; tall, lanky, kinda slow but with good passing range.

Receive the ball, look for teammates, wait to draw in the opponent and then play the pass.
