Amnesia isn't fake, it's real and can be devastating

"the interesting part is that she does remember that she forgets"

This is not fake. I know Kayla, and it is very much real.

This is not fake! As I listen to this story I can find similar behavior in my own daughter who has retrograde amnesia . The kids at school were and have been key to helping her find her way. Just like kayla, my child had to relearn life and also can only live in the present. Different settings but the behavior is soo soo similar .

Sometimes it may actually be better to forget, but to have it all come back to you would be fun after.

Something similar happened to me. I lost the memories of what I was doing, a few years ago I have recovered a bit of it. Sadly I cannot fully remember everything I did, I think it is a kind of system to protect our lives.

Man.. the human brain is a beautiful, tragic mystery. The product of billions and billions of years of evolution by natural selection. Amazing we've evolved such a complex organ. I sort of wish I would have been born 500 years from now just so I could understand more. But no time like the present, I guess.
