I bought the DX frog rod during Black Friday Sale a couple years ago. The only issue I have is the butt section is too long. I’m constantly hitting either my side or bicep which causes the bait to foul on retrieve. Shorten the butt, and extend the tip to keep it 7’4”, or make an additional model for us short people…

Funny I own 5 casting rods 4 are comparable to these and the 5th one is a Sierra 766...for spinning rods I'd suggest a drop shot rod (6'10 ML XF), an all purpose 7' M F and a 7'2 ML F type setup to act as a lighter jig and worm rod. I'd also suggest putting some thought into the reel seat design and not doing what Daiwa or Dobyns does with their spinning rods which is basically just cater to anglers that hold the rod above or below the reel seat exclusively...the new Fenwick design (as an example) is pretty cool in that you are going to get a good experience regardless...or just make a copy of the new Poison Adrenas that's $100-$200 less expensive but otherwise pretty much do exactly what they did :P

Wish these came out about 2 months ago when I was looking for a new frog rod. I really like the tip on this one. I went with the kage which is wonderful but this tip seems more whipable

7'3" H regular bend dock skipping rod. 1/4 oz-1 3/8 oz. 12-25 lb test. 9 guides plus tip. 14 3/4" handle length. Daiwa made this back in the day. Or something close to Dobyns 735C.

Another good model would be a 7' H action like the old light and tough rods.

Correction, no exposed blank by the trigger. Same as Tatula XT.

I have one of the old ones hiding in a corner somewhere.
I’ve learned my lesson on buying rods under $200.

In a previous post, you recommended the 7'5" reaction rod for Chatterbaits.
And the bottom contact rod for Spinnerbaits. Correct? I throw those 2 most of the time.

I wish there was a versatile 7’0 medium heavy fast and 2 piece

I am contemplating if I should buy a rod from lew's or the daiwa bottom contact rod, how sensitive are the bottom contact rods

Wish you would've explained the differences, if any, between last gen and this. Do they have the same reel seats? You say you didn't like the last gen 7'3 glass for chatterbaits. But what about the new version? Are these the same weight as the last gen?

The model you had in your hand was not a guide showing reel seat.

Let’s see a jerkbait rod in the mix. But not too long. Like a 6’10” or something.

You need some shorter rods. 7'3 is the shortest.
