I've been using Nivea shaving cream for a few months. I bought one bottle at Walmart for $3.47. When I use it, all it takes is one pump directly into a damp synthetic brush and face lather. There's enough lather in the brush for 3 passes. The Nivea doesn't have a strong scent but it has excellent residual slickness. This Nivea shave cream and the Gillette Pure shave cream are two of the best inexpensive products I've used. And I never need a pre-shave. I find the Nivea to be as good as any of my artisan soaps. It will definitely remain in my rotation.

I use this without a brush and I find that it gives me over the top slickness and cushion. if you use it like a latherless cream, which is it not obviously, I think you'll find it give a superior shave.

That Nivea Sensitive Calm shave cream renders all other soaps useless to me. Tons of residual slickness, the Noxima was not necessary and most likely impacted your experience. I’ve used this shave cream since I discovered it probably 6 months ago, and have zero need for the overpriced artisan soaps that are in my den. I now use that money on Parfum and pick how I want to smell all day long vs just for the shave. Both head shave and face shave and the Nivea SCSC was purchased at that time for $3.48 each. I bought 8 I think and it lasts forever. I think I’m on my second one now. I only have to use 1 pump. Amazing stuff and high quality

Hi Mark, came across your Nivea review as I've just started using it and wondered what others thought. I love it.!
The new thing I took away from your review was the use of moisturiser as a pre-shave. I'd never thought/heard of that before. Today I used a coconut butter moisturiser with the nivea shaving cream on top, what a shave! I had 3 days of growth but it was the smoothest ever, no tugging or scraping, a real eye opener.
Can't wait to try it again.

I don’t care if it’s artisan this looks nice! I respect artisan products and definitely want to try more however I’m on a budget. I currently use Gillette labs rapid foaming gel which is only slightly more expensive than this. So I may or may not switch but this is a great price point and after trying nivea men sensitive soothing post shave balm I was blown away and very impressed with nivea. Especially for how affordable it is. You can definitely find shave gels and aftershaves in the 5-10 dollar range that are mind blowing compared to anything sub 5 dollars and it’s well worth it.

I saw the Nivea shave lotion at the pharmacy and almost picked it up. Good tip using the Noxema! My wife has some and I can probably sneak a little here and then! What brand of towel cabinet do you use? Great video!😊

@MarkSzorady OMG!!! I had my S.O.T.D yesterday with Noxzema as a pre shave, Nivea as my shave soap, & homemade wintergreen splash, & Gillette gel with my Henson razor and Astra Green Blade. The Nivea shave cream is a lot better than the kiss my face cream. Especially in the scent department. My leftover cream in my dollar tree tea cup is still puffy. As always a great detailed educational breakdown of wet shaving products.
