4:35 the mechanism moving the bowl back halfway through the pour so the curry stays in the middle is amazing and I love it. That's the kind of thing you only get from someone who really loves what they're doing.

The sheer effort to keep all those machines working and crucially stocked given the various requirements is unreal, those people must love what they do and apparently enough of the public do as well :)

Great to see you back Scotty.

The microwave machine was amazing, the fact it uses an off the shelf microwave 😂 I definitely want to visit

Mechanical logic has always been more interesting than digital logic to me. The care they take to keep them functional is amazing.

I've seen a lot of youtubers go to this place, but this is the first time I've seen the insides of them and how they work. I'm especially impressed by the curry one keeping both the rice and the pouches of curry warm and the pouch gets cut in the machine, and then they say it doesn't use a microwave **because it's from before microwaves**. Awesome video, thanks a lot.

Yesterday I saw John's video. And what a remarkable place it is. Japan has vending machines everywhere, but this old classic ones are the most fun and glad to see them being presered and used. Hope you are having fun in Japan.

I remembered seeing AkiDearest posting a video about this exact place near a tire shop about a year ago. It looks rather fascinating to see all sorts of retro machines come to life. This spot seems like a great place to check out in Kanagawa.

This is honestly amazing. It would be so much easier and probably cheaper for those people to just get rid of all the machines and just have a window for people to order stuff from, but it is AWESOME that they take the time to preserve these old machines and allow people to experience them in modern day.

That’s pretty cool! Japanese engineering always fascinated me. And how many revisions of those machines did it take to get the curry poured just right, or the popcorn not make a mess? Fun fact: Rube Goldberg machines are called Pythagoras Switches in Japanese.
